Sennheiser Nordic is streamlining the organisation to meet market demands

Shortly after Sennheiser has changed its international organisation to match markets and customer segments, Sennheiser Nordic now follows suit. All employees remain in the organisation - a few, however, with different responsibilities in the new structure.
Following intense preparations, Sennheiser Nordic changes its organisation structure as of February 1, to make it even more market driven and in accordance with the customer structure. The changes are in line with those of the parent company, Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG, implemented with the turn of the new year.
”Sennheiser Nordic's Executive Team are constantly working to improve our existing sales- and marketing efforts in order to comply with future demands", says Steen Peitersen, Managing Director - Nordic and continues,
”In Sennheiser Nordic's new organisation, we intend to focus on developing new business areas and on increasing our present sales in all business segments. Furthermore, the new structure will enable us to better exploit the competences in the organisation. With the new structure, the Sennheiser Nordic organisation is set to achieve the best possible results and hence further improve on the success we have created together with our customers in a changing market. "
The customers in focus
Established only five years ago, Sennheiser Nordic is a young organisation. Still, in that short time span, it has managed to double its turnover. And it is the explicit goal of Managing Director Steen Peitersen to double it yet again over the next five years.
”Just like the rest of the business, we have of course felt the global financial crisis. And yet, we are very pleased with this year's result, which I am not afraid to call "very satisfactory" for Sennheiser Nordic", he explains.
Sennheiser Nordic is a Sennheiser subsidiary, established in 2006 and further developed in the years thereafter: in 2006 with Denmark and Norway, in 2007 with Sweden, and in 2009 with Finland. During the same period, the customer segments have become less national and more Nordic, which is why Sennheiser Nordic now changes its organisation according to the motto: ”Think Nordic, act local”.
”The changes in the organisation are a natural consequence of the fact that both our consumer- and professional customers now act in a more "Nordic" way. One of the main benefits of the Nordic structure will be a far more efficient communication with our customers", says Sales and Marketing Director Nordic, Bjørn Rennemo Henriksen, who also expects a significant improvement in the workflow at Sennheiser Nordic.
From ”super tanker" to "a convoy of speed boats”
In the future, Sennheiser Nordic will be divided in three Business Areas, each with its own organisation, in order to move closer to the customers, focus even more on their needs, respond faster and make sharper decisions:
- Consumer Electronics, including audiology and telecommunication
- Professional Systems, including live music, professional audio, studio and professional headsets
- Installed Sound
The three Business Areas are in close contact with the corresponding Business Areas at the parent company in Wedemark, Germany. All are supported by Sennheiser's Shared Services.
Sennheiser's CEO has described the new organisation as "a super tanker which, in the future, will become a convoy of speed boats."
Sennheiser Nordic's Management Team consists of:
- Steen Peitersen, Managing Director – Nordic.
- Bjørn Rennemo Henriksen, now with a more strategic function as Sales & Marketing Director – Nordic.
- Eric Gjerulf, who now becomes Business Area Manager, Retail – Nordic with responsibility for Consumer Electronics.
- Roberth Opsahl-Engen, now to become Business Area Manager, PRO – Nordic.
- Ronny Nielsen, now Business Area Manager, Installed Sound - Nordic
The Management Team are supported by:
- Flemming Johannsen, Director of Business Development - Nordic, who will use his thorough knowledge of Sennheiser's customer segments to expand the existing market.
